Henry Crater

Henry Crater is an actor, singer, and songwriter based in NYC. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Originally from Sanibel Island, Florida, Henry attended Phillips Academy in Andover, MA for high school and performed at French Woods Festival of the Arts during the summers.

 

Recent theatre credits include Jack Kelly in NEWSIES (Virginia Theatre Festival) and Jerry Lee Lewis in MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET (Sierra Rep). Henry enjoys playing roles that challenge and stretch him, and loves performing in pieces that make you think.

 

As a composer and songwriter, Henry has written one full-length musical, EINSTEIN OF LOVE, which enjoyed a sold-out performance at 54 Below in May 2026. He has multiple other pieces in development and has a released a catalog of music on Spotify. In 2020, Henry was selected as a winner of the American Theatre Wing’s National Musical Theatre Songwriting Challenge and had his song “Your World/Safe” recorded by Jason Gotay and Rachel Zegler. For fun, he gigs around NYC with his band Cereal Monogamy (new single “SOS” out now!”).

 

Henry loves to travel and speaks Spanish almost fluently. He also enjoys running, reading, and video games in his free time.
